The operation of Group Training South West Incorporated / The Apprentice and Traineeship Company is overseen by a voluntary Board of Directors.

Board of Directors

The Board is comprised of Mr Tom Hall (Chairman), Ms Patricia Fitzhardinge (Deputy Chair),Mr Mark Seaward, Mrs Bernice Butlion, Mr Stan Liaros (Secretary), Mr Ian Trigwell and Ms Rosie Cahill.

These individuals bring to the table a broad range of experience from business and industry plus incredible longevity as serving members. Mr Trigwell has contributed as a voluntary board member for more than 35 years. Mr Hall (over 35 years’ service), Mr Liaros (28 years), Ms Fitzhardinghe (20 years) and Ms Cahill (3 years) further add to the organisation’s leadership.

A varied cross-section of industry and business is represented by the board including:
Plumbing and Gasfitting – Mr Hall; TAFE Training – Mr Seaward; Sports and Recreation – Mrs Butlion; Dairy industry – Mr Trigwell; Industrial relations – Mr Liaros; Community services – Ms Fitzhardinghe; Community Ms Rosie Cahill.

Secretary of the Board and current Chief Executive Officer Mr Liaros says “continuity of board representation has been one of the strengths of the organisation”.

This board has guided and overseen the development of Group Training South West / The Apprentice and Traineeship Company from a fledgling organisation which began as a two-person operation in a single-room leased office and employing just one apprentice. It has grown to the point of having offices in Bunbury, Perth, Mandurah, and Busselton and has employed as many as 750 apprentices and trainees at once.
